FTTF disembarkation

I was just wondering from any of you who have had FTTF how disembarkation works. On their website it says you can choose early or late disembarkation times.

When/how do you choose which time you want and how late is the late time? It has been 4 years since my last cruise. Do they still give you zone tags for luggage and you have to go to a designated waiting area and wait for them to call your zone? Is that the same with FTTF?

TIA!

If you want early and put your luggage out the night before you will be given a very low number for disembarkation

First off is the self assist people. These are people who are walking off the ship carryin all their luggage with no assistance.

After those people are cleared they will start the process of calling zones-- with platinum and diamond then FTTF people.

so if you need to be off early figure about 8:am-8:30 with that first zone being called.

If you want to go later-- the last person is off between 10-10:30

I have no idea about the late disembarkation but I am sure it is similar to the early FTTF set-up. We received a letter about timing and selected early. The tags an a second letter with the meeting place for disembarkation was delivered to our cabin. We were escorted from the meeting area by Carnival crew to certain elevators and straight to the exit doors off the ship.

We did self assist with fttf on our last cruise. they had us wait in the red frog pub and escorted us down behind the diamond and platinum guests who were waiting in the next bar

I know with the FTTF we were in Zone 1 to disembark if we didn't want to carry our bags ourselves. If we did, we followed platinum/diamond but were ahead of the others doing self-disembark

The afternoon before you debark your room steward will leave a packet of info about the FTTF process for your ship. You basically have 2 options

1) Self debark - For our ship last week the FTTF people were instructed to bring ourselves and all our luggage to the specified bar by 8 am. There were refreshments (Coffe, OJ, Danish etc) provided. BY 8:15 we were escorted off the ship and zipped through customs. At our car by 8:25

2) Zone Debark - this is the option where you leave your luggage out by your door the night before. We were given Zone 1 luggage tags in our packet to place on our bags. (even though we self debarked they still included the tags in the packet) Zone 1 was assigned a waiting area to meet at by 9 AM. Zone 1is the first zone called to leave the ship (after the self debark people and Platinum). From my understanding your bags will be waiting for you in the assigned Zone 1 in the port. You then must locate your bags and then report to customs before you leave the terminal.

We got off the Liberty with FTTF last Saturday after NYE cruise. We opted for luggage out in hall by 11:00pm night before.

We received zone 2 luggage tags and told to be in deck 3 golden dinning room by 7:45 am morning of debark. Within 7 mins of us meeting in dinning room we were escorted off of the ship to baggage claim, waited 5 mins for the luggage to finish coming off ship. Got luggage, no wait in line at customs, in taxi on way at 8:08 am.

Both times we have had FTTF and both times we were given the option of zone 1 luggage tags or to wait as long as we wanted.

Since we prefer to not leave our luggage out at night we do self assist so always ignored that offer and just got whatever cruise tags everyone else was given at random.

On the first cruise we got zone 11 tags

On the second cruise we got zone 4 tags

So if you want zone 1/a low number make sure you state you do.

We did late debark with FTTF. Here's how it went.

We put our luggage out the night before. We went to breakfast that morning. Had a nice, leisurely brekkie with our new cruise friends. When we were done, we went to the line where people were debarking. The lady told us to go to the back of the line, I turned my card around to show the sticker, she opened the line and told us "right this way, when the line starts moving, you're next". YMMV, of course. But it seems as though you can just wander off whenever with FTTF.
