Jeffrey1950 Posted January 12, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2015 (edited) Happy New Year !! Last year I got a fantastic deal on the Splendor out of New York. It was a sale that came out in April. Do they do this every year with Summer Special's or did I just get Lucky last year ?? Edited January 12, 2015 by Jeffrey1950
nissach Posted January 12, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2015 Happy New Year !! Last year I got a fantastic deal on the Splendor out of New York. It was a sale that came out in April. Do they do this every year with Summer Special's or did I just get Lucky last year ?? I have never cruised in the summer so I am never looking at prices in the spring. However, we are thinking of a cruise this summer, so I am to interested if they have sales for summer sailings.
vwrestler171 Posted January 12, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 12, 2015 They had a lot of cancellations from a $50 deposit sale so they had to deeply discount cruises to get the ships to sale full. I wouldn't hold my breath on summer being cheap.
love my grandkids Posted January 12, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 12, 2015 All a matter of supply and demand. They will structure pricing to maximize their revenue.
falkcor Posted January 12, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 12, 2015 as posted in your other thread about the same: i would say no, you cannot count on any particular 'sale' at any given point. they are very dynamic, and pretty much always have a 'sale' of one sort or another going on. some are better than others. don't count on the same 'deal' coming around at any fixed point in time. monitor what they are offering, and book when you are comfortable with what is offered. if you want added protection / guarantee to maximize the potential for price drops and such, book early saver, so you can price match to other sales after final payment, but be aware of the booking restrictions before you commit to it.
