tatanka49 Posted January 12, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2015 I just received an "upgrade" notice from an inside 1F to an inside 1D. I can't figure out the difference. Can anyone help? Thanks John

fishywood Posted January 13, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 13, 2015 (edited) Location, location, location. IF cabins are all the way forward on Plaza, Emerald, or Lido deck. All have a public area either directly above or below. ID cabins are mid-aft or aft on Dolphin, Caribe or Baja deck. A quicker elevator ride whether going to public areas up or down, and quieter as you are between two other cabin decks. If you booked an IF guarantee and were assigned an ID you did alright. If you were already assigned your IF cabin and received this upgrade, you did more than good--personally I would never choose a 100-series cabin. Pam in CA Posted January 15, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 15, 2015 What's a 100 series cabin?Very front of the ship. Some people like the location but generally, you'll have more motion, feel the slap of waves as the ship goes through them if the seas are rough, and you'll hear the anchor being lowered and raised when anchoring or lines being thrown if docking. :) Pam
