Disney Dream where to eat on embarkation day besides the buffet

Embarkation day is always crazy and I want to know if there is a quiet, out of the way place to eat since I know the buffet will be crowded and seating will be at a premium.

Cabanas (the buffet) can be busy or not so much, depending on when you board the ship. We boarded the ship early, and they actually weren't ready for people in Cabanas yet. Plenty of places to sit.

But, to answer your question - Enchanted Garden is open (limited hours, 12:15-2:00). It's also a buffet, but you will be shown to a table and the servers will take your drink orders.

Thanks for that info. I'll be on board in the fall (1st time on Dream) and will make sure to board early and hit the Enchanted Garden

Hint--if the person at the door tries to steer you upstairs (often saying it is full or whatever), just tell them you'll be happy to wait for a table. Amazingly, one opens within minutes.

We MUCH prefer the sit down venue on each ship--beverage refills are served to you, it feels safer leaving the carry on bag while we go to the buffet. OK, it is safely stored under the table, but still...

Wait...you have to eat standing up in Cabanas? :p

(Sorry, moki'smommy. I couldn't resist)

But to make this post useful, I do agree with moki'smommy. We usually board as soon as allowed and neither dining venue is crowded then. Usually doesn't start building up until about an hour after the first boarding.

OK, gometros....I think I owe you one.....

But seriously, we like the fact that in the MDR that is open, we are escorted to a table and have a beverage order taken (and refilled as desired). If you choose to eat in Cabanas/BBB, you stand around with a full tray looking for a place to sit or you enter with your bags and place them on a table to hold it until you return with your food.
