FraudBroad Posted January 25, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 25, 2015 I know that you can bring on your own soda and water but my question is can you put a luggage tag on it and check it? Or do you need to carry it on yourself? Thanks!
shastatroy Posted January 25, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 25, 2015 I always tape a tag onto the box and check it in with the porters. I've never had a problem.
Colo Cruiser Posted January 25, 2015 #3 Share Posted January 25, 2015 Yes tag it.

paul929207 Posted January 25, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 25, 2015 Much easier to tag it than to lug it
suzieb25 Posted January 25, 2015 #6 Share Posted January 25, 2015 Yes, but on one short cruise, even though our water was tagged, the water simply disappeared and never showed up. Don't know if it broke apart or the tag was ripped off, but now I always put the water in a lightweight bag and tag that.
dg33 Posted January 26, 2015 #7 Share Posted January 26, 2015 This is a silly question, I'm sure, but what do you use to tag the bottles? Are there luggage tags available at the check-in?
shepp Posted January 26, 2015 #8 Share Posted January 26, 2015 As I usually ask (OK, scold) in threads like this: is there sone reason you'd pay perfectly good money for ecologically icky bottled water (often of questionable purity), while Princess provides all the perfectly good H20 you can drink (or put in refillable bottles) for free? suzieb25 Posted January 26, 2015 #9 Share Posted January 26, 2015 When you print out your boarding pass and luggage tag, print out an extra luggage tag for the water or for whatever else you may not want to carry.
LovetheSea Posted January 27, 2015 #10 Share Posted January 27, 2015 Be careful bringing soda in your luggage. Years ago I had a six pack of Pepsi in my shoe suitcase. A couple of the cans burst on the plane. My husband said because of the change in air pressure. The Pepsi got all over my shoes and actually took off the dye on my Black dress shoes. I don't drink soda anymore.
npd1231 Posted January 27, 2015 #11 Share Posted January 27, 2015 We recently sailed out of Houston and the porter would not take our tagged case of water or 12 pack of coke, so we had to lug everything on.

Flatbush Flyer Posted January 27, 2015 #13 Share Posted January 27, 2015 This is a silly question, I'm sure, but what do you use to tag the bottles? Are there luggage tags available at the check-in? The more important question is why anyone would bring bottled water on a cruise ship. Ship water is ultra-pure. Just bring a couple of refillable containers. Grammyluvs Posted January 27, 2015 #14 Share Posted January 27, 2015 I agree about the water on the ship. We take insulated bottles, fill them up with ice and just a little water and have water all day while in the ports. We bought clips to attach to our belt loops to keep our hands free.
