What to do on last sea day

Is it just me, or is the final sea day always kind of a drag? It seems like the onboard entertainment options are really scaled back on that last day. Has anyone else noticed that?

So with that in mind, what are your favorite onboard activities for the last sea day? Do you have any boredom busters to share? Or do you just pack up and start prepping to head home?

I'm looking for suggestions for both kids and adults. Any ideas are welcome!

This is only my 2nd cruise and my first only had one at sea day before we hit up 5 ports and returned. My new itinerary has 3 sea days and we booked the Steakhouse for the last night (assuming it's not an elegant night). We will probably also book a spa treatment that day.

You are correct. We like to visit the workout studio for cardio and weightlifting. We realize that won't undo all the hi-cal eating that went on the past 4 days, but it is a kickstart. The views are great up there, too.

If I didn't already, I take an opportunity to walk from floor to floor and from stem to stern, starting at the very top of the ship, taking pictures and finding the hidden away gems I should have found before (this is how I've found those "hidden" decks.

I also am the one (in case you see me! :p) who is walking through the buffet area with $5 bills handing them out to those who helped me out (my family - my husband is disabled and SO MANY crew help him it's just lovely) during the trip (the Mongolian Wok guys, the waffle and omelet makers, a table clearer, or a tray carrier, etc.) and saying "Thank you for having us!" to every crew member I see. This is a ritual of mine, and I cannot express how happy it makes me feel to do this. Now my 2 best friends do this as well and they have both expressed how happy it makes them feel to do this. No kidding it helps to relieve some of the "it's almost over" blues.

I LOVE this idea! I will be packing $5 bills for my next cruise and thank those who deserve it. No one ever hears "thank you" too much.

Next time, I'm going with THIS GUY!!!

I love sea days. I love the ocean and can hang out on the upper decks for hours. My wife's the big gambler, but I can lose money as well as anyone else.

I always highlight the things I want to do on the Fun Times, but only end up going to half of them (or less).

On the last cruise I was on, the last sea day had a bunch of activities - following are the ones that I participated in:

Amazing Race

Super Trivia Finals (3 day team event)

Family Scavenger Hunt

Movie Lines Trivia

Marriage Show

In addition to this, we hit up the water slides, pool, and hot tubs, went to the arcade, played basketball and mini golf, ran a few miles on the track in the morning.

After dinner, we went to the piano bar, comedy show, and then the casino before calling it a night. During all of this, we found time to max out the Cheers program for the day, pack all of our suitcases, and go to guest services to cash out all of our OBC accounts.

If you are bored, it is your fault.

Try and enjoy peace and quiet for the last time while laying in the sun on Serenity Deck.

That night I pack my stuff and go into depression. It really hits me when they sing the song at dinner. Makes me want to cry every time. :( I'll usually stay up really late and have pizza about 2AM. Take a short nap - as I never sleep good the last night anyway. Then, sadly, as if someone stole my puppy, make my way off the ship.

When I get home, I start planning the next one :D

That sounds amazing! Those are all activities we have enjoyed in the past, but they were earlier in the week on our last 3 cruises. Hopefully they will offer some items like this on our upcoming trip. On our previous cruises, the schedule was something like:

Last chance art auction

Final sale at shops

Bingo

Debarkation talk

And, if we were REALLY lucky ... a repeat of towel animal folding

Basically, anything we can do to take a bit more of your money before you hop off. I would LOVE it if we had some of the activities you mentioned, because we aren't "boring" people - we hardly spend any time in our cabin. We are somewhat limited in outdoor activities, because we're cruising out of Long Beach in the winter, so the slide, outdoor pools and mini golf are often closed on the last day due to wind and cold.

I had forgotten about the "Behind the Fun" tour, so thanks to everyone who mentioned that! I am hoping to send my husband and dad on that.

Loving all these suggestions, keep them coming!

My favorite sea day activities are the sea day brunch (with mimosas) and the slot tournament. And in between I like to catch some rays. I also like to get up early on sea days to visit the casino before it gets really smoky. Its never crowded in the mornings.

The only thing I really hate about the last day is packing, so I get up early, have breakfast, and then get as much packing done as possible so I can relax and enjoy the day.
