Can I make reservations at Crown restaurant before my cruise?

I'm semi-new to Princess. It's been several years since my first Princess cruise. I'm doing a B2B (4 days ea.) on the Crown on 2/2 and 2/6 (next week) (California Coastal). I'm taking my elderly mother for her birthday which is on the 2/6, which is the first day of our 2nd cruise. Is the Crown specialty restaurant open on the first night of a cruise? Can I book it now or do I have to wait til I board the ship on the 6th? I've searched Princess.com and can't find any info. Thanks for your help!

It is open the first night. You cannot make reservations in advance, however since you are already on board, talk to the maitre 'd during the first leg

Happy Birthday, Mom! Since you will be on the previous cruise, you could talk to the Crown Grill people and see if you can get a reservation for that day. I'm pretty sure you can't call ahead and get one.

You will have to wait until you are onboard and there should be no problem booking for the first night of your second cruise. I would just go ahead and do that early on.

Thanks everyone! I'll try to book the reservation on the first leg of the cruise. I'm sure I'll come up with another question shortly. I do my best to search the forums first.
