Valor Review January 18 to 25

Recently off the Valor and will try this review thing. First, here is some quickly thrown together video of all the islands for your viewing pleasure with more to follow later, including the BAD AND NASTY:

That is a cool video. We were also on that same Valor cruise and I will also be working on a review.... we just got home late last night/early this morning (flights cancelled from the "Big Snow storm on the east coast). Love to see other perspectives on the same cruise. Great start.

How was she inside clean, I know she missed her dry dock and there isn't another scheduled.

Everything was clean, tons of staff too. You can see the wear and tear in spots in different places, but overall the main cabin itself and main areas are spotless clean

We had the Lido balcony 9249. Very nice, cabin cleaner bro was good and nice. I was worried about a standard balcony as I have only been on the Carnival Legend extended balcony becore, but the small size seemed to grow day by day.

Now, where was I................ Oh, the fellow passengers! OMG! Again, my first Carnival cruise was a 7 day western out of Tampa in January. Lots of calm retired senior citizens of course. Same month, farther away, but TONS OF YOUNGER DRUNKS! Don't get me wrong, I was the younger drunk on the Legend cruise, but this one will have a ton!

However, the good news is the stops are fabulous and the people you read about harassing you is wrong! Only had about 2 the whole trip and they stopped immediately when I said NO.

Oh and we did at least one Carnival excursion at each stop. They were pretty top notch and the cateramans were EXCELLENT on St Kitts and St Lucia

Boatyard in Barbados has some of the bluest and clearest water I have ever seen from above the water, St Lucia has the most visibility I have seen below water, dont let the Mediterranean blue above water of St Lucia fool you! Underneath it is amazing!

This was a cruise that went out of San Juan. The Valor will be sailing out of Port Canaveral when you cruise. We have been on the Valor 2 times and in April will be on for the 3rd time. We have never experienced anything like this on it or any other Carnival ship. Not worried in the least about this ship or this cruise.

We are leaving from Pt. Canaveral perhaps in San Juan things are different (doubt it though) but there is another person that came off the same cruse who said he/she will be writing a review waiting to hear that one, lets not make judgement and assume our cruise be this way I guarantee it won't.

No worries, everything was pretty much top notch! I just wanted to point out a couple sloppy bad apples and I hope they see this and go to REHAB! Other than that though, seriously a pretty great trip with good food!

I was on the Valor out of San Juan the week before the OP. 1/11-1/18 and it wasn't how he described at all. It was fun but I didn't see any of what he is describing.

I was also on the 1/11-1/18 cruise and did not experience any of the noise issues. I also didn't notice many drunks. Just a couple, and they were in the casino.

Hi, I did use 100 percent gopro in the video. I made some bad choices with lenses, but it turned out ok for a rush job. I use the 1080 at 60 frames per second. Works great if you put an hdmi cable to your tv or burn a dvd

I think part of it depends on what your interests are and what you do on the ship. We go to the comedy club and see a few that have over indulged but nothing too bad when we have cruised....we also aren't hanging out in the casino and bar areas. I think for those that are drinking and hanging out where others are drinking you are going to witness more of it. As for being in the cabins, I would think if it were out of hand, security would handle it. We have cruised out of San Juan twice.

I was on this sailing with you! You definitely can see some wear and tear on the ship, especially with the chairs in the main promenade. They looked really worn out. Also the carpeting looked bad in some places, especially in the staterooms.

 

But the staff was friendly and I had an overall fun cruise!
