Is this possible for our day in Juneau?

We will be in Juneau from 7:00 till 3:00. Already booked is a 4.5 hour tour with Harv and Marv, leaving at 7:30. If everything is on time and according to schedule, we should return to the ship around 12:00. I would like to eat at Tracy's Crab Shack for lunch and then if time permits take the Mt. Roberts tram, if only to ride up, stay just a little bit, then return. Will those plans work with our schedule?

We will be in Juneau next July for the first time. We are booked with Harv and Marv as well. Looking forward to that excursion. You should have time eat, but watch your time and the weather. If the weather is not clear do not bother to take the tram, people said is it not worth the money. And if your time seems tight, just enjoy walking around the town before you head back to the ship.

Tracys is maybe a 1-2 minute walk to the Mt Roberts Tram. Don't buy the tram tickets aboard ship, wait until you arrive to make sure the weather is clear. Personally I think the tram is way overpriced but its your $$. There is lots to see and do from Juneau.

One question, where are all the independent shore excursions booths at and are they hard to find? Jest might wanna ta go to the glacier?

When you step off the boat.... all the private sellers will be waiting to ambush you with deals. Look for the signs. If you don't see them because of where you dock, walk towards the middle dock just West of Tracy's. Look at this link and can you see the little red shack's? It's not Tracy's, but where are the tour operators hide out...

If you are just want to go to Mendenhall.... there's a $20 shuttle where you can go and return at your convenience.... just pay attention to your boat and last shuttle time.

The independent operators have booths located on either side of the tram. Last time I was there more were also on the dock side of the street opposite the Red Dog Saloon. They are all over near the pier area, they want you to find them and are not hidden :)

Got another question about Tracy's crab shack, does one need reservations or is it a walk up place, an place your order?

Just walk up and order at the shack, very informal. At times the line can be long. If you get there at a good time when the line isn’t so horrendous, you can order your grub and then pick it up later bypassing the line.

We are scheduled to do Harv & Marvs trip too. However, we want more time at Mendenhall Glacier so they are going to drop us off there to catch a tram/shuttle back to the ship.

Does anyone know if we need to purchase the return tickets from the glacier there in town before we take our tour with H&M, or do they sell the one-way return shuttle trips at the Glacier.

We've been told the tickets are $8.00, can anyone verify this?

Best to think about going to Tracy away from peak lunch and dinner times. When three or four ships in dock with a few thousand passengers directed to Tracy.... the place is busy.

Been thinkin about another thing. The Radiance get in at 7 a.m. in Juneau in Sept, now if Tracy's is open at that hr, was thinkin maybe just maybe, gettin off the ship, say oh 20 minutes later and go have breakfast there, that way can beat the crowd. Any thoughts?

If you check the website.... Tracey is not open until 10:30am.... she needs to go out and thaw the crabs.

Hey, now that sounds like a good idea, didn't think of that!!!

I would go to Tracey at 3 or 4pm. Think of it as a big afternoon snack... before the cruise dinner.... If you have late dining..... maybe show up when other diners are eating on the ship......

The thing is Tracy is much smaller than any one of the cruise ship dining rooms.
