CasinoCruzGirl Posted February 4, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 4, 2015 (edited) Just want to warn people that if you buy OBC make sure you have an email confirming it. I'm booked on a cruise for May 2015 and purchased myself $50 OBC planned on doing another $50 today and looked at my vacation summary and it's not showing and I also have no email confirming it. I do have my bank statement debit card that I used to purchase it transaction number. The problem is I cancelled my booking to receive the new promo and rebook and I specifically asked if that was also being transferred to my new reservation and they said yes. Well I have been on the phone with customer service for over half an hour to straighten it out they said it was not transferred over with my new booking she is seeing what she can do....so as I hold I'm typing this and I hope it works out....tick tock....... Still on hold I will come back and tell you the outcome. So be careful if you purchase any OBC make sure you don't make the mistake I did and not get a confirmation email. EDIT: they said it was refunded to my card on 2/2/15 and I should give it a few more days for it to show up what a PITA ughhhhh Geri Edited February 4, 2015 by FootballParent
triptolemus Posted February 4, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 4, 2015 Shortly, someone will come along and try to tell you how silly it is to purchase OBC for yourself... That person isn't me! :) Glad you got it sorted.

For that reason, I would never, ever pay for things like this in advance. Too many things happen and I just as soon not waste time dealing with it. soccersharon Posted February 4, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 4, 2015 I would say it depends :). For Canadians, it does make sense to purchase OBC ahead of time. NCL offers an attractive exchange rate, when buying in advance. Also, for many of us, buying OBC in advance allows folks to set aside funds for the cruise, as their monthly budget allows. janetz Posted February 4, 2015 #6 Share Posted February 4, 2015 Get it in writing, an email confirmation, and bring it with you onboard. Always.

This has been a HUGE savings for our big 19 night cruise coming up.

I purchased OBC under my old reservation and after reading your post, I decided to check my new reservation. After a call to NCL, I was told that they will be issuing me a credit for the OBC I purchased and I will have to repurchase under my new reservation. Had I not read your post I would have just assumed everything was transferred. Thanks again.
