geovet Posted February 6, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 6, 2015 Has any on seen whale from the cruise ship or from the beach? Thanks
Rare crewsweeper Posted February 6, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 6, 2015 I don't think you can see the whales from the beach where the ship comes in. I think they come down between East Caicos and GT as they typically pass Salt Cay. but they'd be further off shore from GT due primarily to the depth and the presence of reefs around Grand Turk. They have been spotted from some of the higher points around the Lighthouse Park which is at the other end of the island from the cruise port. Rare mitsugirly Posted February 10, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 10, 2015 I was hoping to maybe spot some too on our upcoming cruise which stops at GT. We will be there the first week of April and I know that's at the end of the migration season, but still crossing my fingers. I have read that if you go to Bohio, you can sometimes spot them from there...which would tell me that they do in fact come close enough to GT to see them right? Their webiste even mentions seeing them from the bar.
metairiegal Posted October 21, 2015 #4 Share Posted October 21, 2015 Would we be able to see any from the ship in December?
Click.Write.Post. Posted January 3, 2016 #5 Share Posted January 3, 2016 As the ms Eurodam was leaving Grand Turk in early December 2010, there was one lone humpback whale off the aft of the ship. We watched it dive a few times before we were too far away to see it.
