Question about Taormina

Has anyone been there on Sunday? I wonder if all the shops close?

Not sure about the shops being closed on Sunday. Google would probably help with that. One of my most favorite days in Taormina was having a lunch on the terrace of Villa Carlotta. The views are spectacular. Highly suggest it.

Some of the shops near the arena are open (even during lunch).

I doubt the shops are closed. They wouldn't want to miss out on all that tourist business.

We were there a few years ago on a Sunday, and other than the normal afternoon closures for a couple hours, I don't recall that too many, if any, businesses were closed. Taormina is one of my favorite places!

Caroldoll...the hotel for lunch is Hotel Metropole on the terrace for views. I went back to my photos to double check the name and it was not Carlotta.

I will be destroyed if a particular shop is closed..we were there in late June, and I want to get something! Hope it is still there.

 

I did write down the Metropole and we will stop. Last time we had a pizza down by where the taxis from Naxos drop you off...not doing that again!

If you want to know if they're open, google the contact info and call or e-mail them. If you can't remember the name contact the Taormina visitor center.
