mrsbraxton Posted February 14, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 14, 2015 Anyone know what type of sports it shows? We're trying to book cruise for summer but British open golf on same week we can go and my husband doesn't want to miss it. Prob a long shot that the sports bar would show bbc sports. Rare Beamafar Posted February 14, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 14, 2015 Anyone know what type of sports it shows? We're trying to book cruise for summer but British open golf on same week we can go and my husband doesn't want to miss it. Prob a long shot that the sports bar would show bbc sports. I've been on a few MSC cruises but haven't hung out much in the Sports bar so I asked DH as he'd be more observant about what's on the screens. He says that it's Sky Sports. We both, however, are positive you won't see BBC Sports on - it's an Italian cruise line.
wwwfla Posted February 15, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 15, 2015 Sadly, there is no sports bar on Divina. There is, however, a great cigar bar with the current sports feeds.

Can't have everything, I suppose :D DH will be happier with the cigar bar for our September sailing - there isn't one on Preziosa, which is our next cruise ship adventure for 20 nights, so he'll make do with the casino for his indoor fags LOL
oreosmile Posted February 15, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 15, 2015 Sadly, there is no sports bar on Divina. There is, however, a great cigar bar with the current sports feeds. There is a Sports bar. Gambee's review has some good photos of it. http://www.cruisewithgambee.com/msc-divina-review-ch-9/
Rare Beamafar Posted February 15, 2015 #6 Share Posted February 15, 2015 There is a Sports bar. Gambee's review has some good photos of it. I was surprised when I read there wasn't - it's on the deck plans in the same place as it is on all Fantasia class ships. However, I haven't been on Divina so wasn't going to contradict anyone on it! The MSC website isn't always reliable - eg they use photos of the Fantasia for Divina and Preziosa even though they're slightly different, especially the longer humps with more balcony cabins. But the deck plans are accurate and show the Sports bar on Deck 7 port side.
Crzyfrk62 Posted February 16, 2015 #7 Share Posted February 16, 2015 Gambee is great!! I just watched his 4 part video on YouTube of the Davina - definately has a sports bar w/bowling ally and pub food. I would think they would have BBC - it's European but I could be wrong... Gambee's review has some good photos of it. http://www.cruisewithgambee.com/msc-divina-review-ch-9/ Excuse me, I'm shocked. Cruised Divina this past May and never saw that room. In fact, I had asked a bartender where was the Sports bar and he said they did not have one. Thanks for the correction, I will visit next time aboard! kathiean Posted February 18, 2015 #9 Share Posted February 18, 2015 The sports bar is great! It's right off the Golden Jazz Lounge and easy to miss. It's tucked back in a corner but it's really rather large once you step inside! Good bar food!
Bison Posted February 18, 2015 #10 Share Posted February 18, 2015 When we were on this ship last Oct. I did see the World Series (baseball) , American football, and soccer (football).

AmoMondo Posted February 19, 2015 #14 Share Posted February 19, 2015 I'd expect that when the Divina is back in Europe there won't be BBC sports channels showing. It is usually sky sports and a lot of European football. Eurosport is also likely to feature. Don't think there is a lot of hope for golf.
Hockeyref Posted February 20, 2015 #15 Share Posted February 20, 2015 I think you'll be fine. It's a huge sports bar with 10-12 big-screen high-def sets. I was on the Christmas cruise and was able to watch college bowl games and NFL games. I am sure they'll show The Open.

Rare Beamafar Posted February 21, 2015 #17 Share Posted February 21, 2015 (edited) There is no smoking allowed in the casino on the Divina. Sorry. I was talking about the Preziosa which is our next cruise in 3 weeks time - smoking is allowed there. There's no cigar lounge on Preziosa. What I said was DH will be happy in the Cigar Lounge on Divina on our September sailing. Edited February 21, 2015 by Beamafar
