We just got off Liberty this am and are driving back to NC. Almost in SC now:) I'm planning on doing a review, but I always do and it never happens :-( So if you have any ?s let me know!!! There was me 37 and my husband 49 in the inside room 1290. My 23 yr old niece and her 34 yr old husband just got married last Fri and had porthole 1221. Her room was sweet!!! Bigger than mine and had a couch!!! We booked 1st of Jan and there was no more portholes then it came open when she booked 1 week later. Her room definitely had a lot more movement than mine. Ours was smooth. I heard complaints of aft cabins and vibration. There was a plumbing accident on our floor and three cabins had wet carpets and fans for 3 days because it was completely full so they couldn't move anyone. It was soo windy on Monday and Tuesday and yesterday. We were supposed to leave Grand Turk @3 and didn't till 10 b/c of wind. So we missed San Juan- which we all looked forward to old town and the forts and their food! But don't worry our $17 credit per person made up for it  !! So we got to see what 4 sea days and 2 ports felt like. I enjoy sea days. My niece and husband like port days. So our score was ...Me 6.5/10, DH 7/10, Niece 7/10, her husband 5/10. It was their 3rd carnival. Our 4th w 2 Princesses. Our 1st big Carnival ship and they went on Conquest last yr. We were disappointed with your time dining. Service was very slow. 1st night was 2 hr process. We were not slow eaters. It took 30 min before we were waited on and it was not packed at 615. Next night we got there when it opened at 545 so we could attend the comedy at 730. Well forget that we finished at 8!!! 2 tops went faster. I spoke with several fixed time and they had same problem. Food was soso. You would taste an appetizer that was awesome but then the entrée would be dry or tough or cold. Or vice versa the next night. It was still 100% better than the buffet. I stay away from the buffet but I ate it one night-yuck except for my salad. Guy's burgers is awesome and I enjoyed the oysters and calamari at fish n chips. Didn't care for the iguana cantina or pizza. I enjoyed the omelette one am-cooked great! And loved the brunch at the dining room and they had surprise lunch in the dining room on our surprise sea day. But for our great price and a beautiful ocean and ship- it was great!! And no work for a week:cool::cool:

Thanks for the review! My wife and I are getting ready to book a cruise on the Liberty out of San Juan. I had read on here about the vibration in the aft cabins. Do you know how bad it was? We have been debating between the aft and forward interior cabins. Looks like we will be going with the forward cabins. How much bigger are the porthole cabins? There are a few still available and we are thinking about booking one.

Thanks,

Tim:cool:

We were on Liberty two weeks ago. The vibration was very noticeable in the rear of the ship. We said it was like sitting in a vibrating chair. ( we stayed in a forward cabin ). Hope they work on it before our upcoming cruise in May.

On the Liberty in January and the entire ship vibrated, not at one time but I mean in several different areas of the ship throughout the week. Didn't bother us as it didn't appear to last all that long.

Well they had a full couch and a chair and a stool when we only had a stool. They had extra storage with corner cabinet near bar/. I would say 6-8' more room from bathroom to bed. We were in the middle and it was nice sleeping but I loved the more space they had! Oh about the aft...they said it was vibrating stuff off shelves lol

5 weeks to go for me, just curious how packed the comedy shows were. Do they make people empty the club between shows so you don't have "seat hogs" for all 3 shows?

Also, did you read or hear anything about the behind the scenes tour? I'm wondering which day it is, how long and how much? I'll probably make my own post about it, but thought I'd ask anyhow.

Thanks for offering to share!

The Early adult comedy show was always packed. They did not make you leave afterward. Looked like everyone was able to get in.

Thanks for the review! We will be sailing Liberty one week from today. We are in 1538 which is just slightly forward of midship. How were the pool areas? Also, how was the entertainment? Looking forward to your pics. Thanks again!!

The pools were chilly! I loved the fact they closed the roof to the adults only pool after 6 p.m.. It did not help the pool temperature but it did help you stay warm in the hot tub and not get all the breeze. I also tried the pool next to the slide because I went down the slide and figured what the heck. They are very salty! It instantly burned my eyes and skin! There is a shower right next to it and I definitely used it. They empty the pools and hot tubs at the End of the cruise and refill them back up for the new people. I never found a hot hot tub they were very warm and one on the serenity was tepid but never hot. If you want some awesome heat I suggest you bring your bathrobe and visit the sauna and the steam room for 15 minutes each and then take a shower in a big shower next to the gym and put your robe on and walk back to your room! It makes you feel great :-) I was surprised not to see many in the pools. The last day was soo windy and 70 so everyone was out of the pools. Serenity was crowded at 10 but you could still find a spot at 8-9. Especially on our surprise sea day, I found a coveted clam shell at 9am! It looked pretty crowded around the middle pool. The aft pool had more open spaces. We never made it to any of the shows in the theater. We went and enjoyed to the game shows in the theater. We did enjoy 2 out of 4 comedians and the magician. Have fun!!!

I only went to the family comedy shows and they were packed. If you didn't get there 15 min early, it was hard to get a seat. I thought they would clear it since there was a line for the adult show, but they just said kids leave. My niece went to 1 adult show and it was packed too. I still don't understand why Carnival doesn't put the comedy shows in the theater like Princess does:confused:

I actually never saw or heard anything about the behind the scenes while on the ship. Sorry

We also are sailing on the Liberty in a little less than 3 weks now. Our friends must have been on the same trip as you. She was telling me today that they felt there was a lot of smoke both from the casino and from the side of the ship they are allowed to smoke on. Did you find this a problem? Do you have to pay to use the sauna and steam rooms?

I forgot to mention that earlier!!! The smoke was mild in the 1st few days, only smelling it in the casino and next to it. But Wow, after the 3rd day, it was horrible!!! If you took the forward elevator, you could smell it as soon as you got off deck 5. Sometimes you could smell all the way down on 3 and all the way up on 9. They definitely need to do something about the filtration system. You could not enjoy people watching on the promenade because of the smell! It seemed I always walked into the smokers on the right side of the ship outside when I would walk down from the serenity deck, my fault but it went away quickly.

Sauna and steam rooms were free as well as the showers and gym:D
