Just off the Reflection on the Feb. 14-21 Cruise

We just got off the Reflection. We had a wonderful time and the staff was just outstanding. The ship continues to be in great shape. We sailed in Aqua Class and we really enjoyed our experience in Blu this time around. They have got the kinks out in serving the increased number of passengers who eat there. On the cruise, the fellow passengers were very friendly and there was a big mix. There were charter flights from Canada as well as a good number of Europeans. We had a great time. What was noticeable was the effects of cut backs. For example, the Activity Staff now consists of 1 person and at one time, we were told by management there were 5. Fewer activities were available compared to past cruises. Live music at the pool is only available on the Sailaway the first day. The guest lecturer "did not show up".

Positives:

-Alexander is a great CD who communicates well

-Fantastic staff who work hard but still smile

-Food was very good

-Captain and his team were accessible

-Unbelievable singers and dancers on board

-Top notch entertainment

-Smooth check in and return

-NO line in Miami customs!!!!

Need for Improvement

-Guest Relations needs work. MAKE SURE YOU BRING A COPY OF YOUR INVOICE AND COPY OF YOUR FINAL PAYMENT. Confirm your credits and dinners early in the cruise. More to come on this topic.

-Reduction in activities during the day such as trivias, free dance classes, etc.

-No daily live music by the pool which we had been accustomed to

-Don't expect chocolates on your pillow. Bring your own... (lol). You will get something on one of the nights.

We had a great time and I cannot say how friendly nearly all the passengers and crew were.

Thanks for your notes. All in all sounds great to us. The activities staff are really not much value to us, so for us, it is not a take away. As Vulcan said, pillow chocolates are coming back soon, so we are happy about that treat before bed. Glad you had a great time. We too love Blu.

thoughts on Walker Black..??

That is a good question. I thought they were real good if you are sitting next to them in a lounge such as in the Ensemble Lounge area. I thought their sounds and skills were overshadowed by a larger venue such as playing in the Martini Bar in the busy Grand Foyer. Talented and real nice people.
