Johhno Posted February 22, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 22, 2015 Hi all, looking at a cruise next year on the Emerald and a bit confused about which deck for a Balcony. Have been on all the Sun class ships here in Oz and also been on the Diamond. I see that Diamond and Emerald a both Grand Class ships so does that mean the deck layouts are similar? Cheers Johhno. The Emerald has an extra pax deck, Riviera, which is located between the Lido and Aloha decks. The balcony cabins are similar and Caribe on both ships have the extra wide balcony. The layout of the public areas is different and the Emerald does not have a conservatory (covered pool area).

Out of the regular balcony cabins Caribe deck are the best. I see them as extra deep and not wider, the width of theard stand cabins are all pretty much the same. monicakm Posted February 22, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 22, 2015 We were on Caribe deck room 303 two weeks ago. Like others have said, they have the deepest balconies and hare half shaded. We were upgraded to a handicap room which made the balcony not only deeper but wider as well. It could have easily and comfortably handled 6 people with room to move about. We've chosen the Caribe deck every time.
