Vision of the Seas... Which Grand Suite?

Recommended Posts

We are looking at a Med cruise on VoS for 2016, and after carefully reviewing the itinerary, I've concluded that we want to be on the port side of the ship. Can anyone tell me if there are any particular advantages or disadvantages to any of the port side Grand Suites? We can choose from 8006, 8008, 8012, 8014, 8016 or 8018 when the itineraries open up (providing that VoS does that same itinerary again for 2016).

Any assistance would be appreciated... I don't know this ship at all.

Thank you!

We had 8016 and had no major issues last year. The only problem was that they were having problems with the water supply following the October 2013 dry dock where all the suites were completely updated. You are definitely making the right choice by choosing port side as they have carts that go back and forth on the starboard side.

If you are looking at the 12 night MED cruise, I follow the port websites and it appears that Brilliance may be doing those and that Vision may be based out of Venice for 2016, but that is subject to change prior to the release of the 2016 deployment by RCI.

Have not been on Vision, but sailed on Grandeur twice - once in GS 8014 and once in GS 8514. We noticed less noise on port side too, and have heard that closer you get under WJ, the noisier it can get - so, I would pick 8014 or 8016. One other note - on Grandeur, the port side deck just above you is smoking area, so if it is the same, you may get more people up on deck smoking and moving deck chairs around. We never smelled any smoke, so no worries there - but we did hear deck chairs being moved around from time to time.

MADflyer... Thank you for the very good info. Yes it is the 12-night Med cruise that I'm looking at, so will await the release of itineraries to see which ship it turns out to be.

Karen - you said 8088. Did you mean 8008?

RSLeesbug - thank you for the input re smoking areas. I will check where they are on Vision and Brilliance prior to booking. I'm unfamiliar with both ships so will do my homework.

Thank you all for the info, much appreciated.

Hi, I actually ment 8088. It is the corner JS aft Port side. I belive it is a sleeper couch.

LOL... I need to do my research on smoking areas so I can avoid them.

Wow - that balcony looks extremely tempting. That may make it worth going to a JS instead of a GS if I could get that cabin. What was the inside like? Did you like it? We've had corner afts on Celebrity S-class and they have been awesome. If this cabin is available for the Med cruise, I may just snap it up. If you get a chance to tell me how you liked the interior of that JS, I'd appreciate it.

Thank you!
