Ferry from piers to Bacardi Rum Factory?

On the Cruise Critic Destinations: San Juan page it reads:

 

Visit the Bacardi Rum Factory. Take the ferry to Catano (it leaves from Pier 2, right next to the cruise ship dock, every half hour and costs $1 roundtrip for the six minute ride) and a bus from the Bacardi Rum Factory will pick you up for the tour.

 

Does anyone have information on this ??

 

1. Does the ferry really run every 30 minutes, Sunday included?

2.Does Bacardi run shuttle buses from Catano to their factory on a regular basis?

3. How long does it take from start to finish? (ie: Leave pier, Ferry, Tour, Ferry, and return to pier)

4. Is the $1 roundtrip price still accurate?

In my humble opinion-don't waste your time The tour stinks...so you get a free rum drink or two and you've wasted valuable vacation time. Use your time more wisely relaxing or beaching and buy your own drinks.

I took it to kill time b4 a flight home-never again. I'd rather spend time in an airport bar-really.

Anything within walking distance worth checking out near the pier where the visiting Royal Caribbean ships dock?Old San Juan area? Is the Hard Rock Cafe still open near there?

So now I have some more questions:

 

1. We will be staying at the Sheraton Old San Juan. Where is Pier 2 in relation to our hotel?

2. When you say "public cars", do you mean taxis? And are these "public cars" just waiting near the ferry landing in anticipation of tourists needing a ride?

3. What time does the Bacardi Factory open for tours on Sunday?
