Port Side or Starboard Side

It depends on the route; Diamond is changing departure port next year. On the smaller ships, the route from Vancouver, either round trip or one way is east of Vancouver Island, in which case the sights on either side are delightful. If from Seattle, the ship this year traveled west of Vancouver Island, so there was only ocean on the port side. Once you get to Juneau, Tracy Arm, etc., it really doesn't matter which side you are on. And for any round trip, the view side is reversed on the return. Hope this helps a little.

Just off the Diamond and it really is true - side doesn't matter. We were on the Port side and when we were out on our balcony I heard the captain come over the loud speaker saying there were whales on the starboard side and of course everyone on the port side left their cabins and went upstairs and outside to look. Also, on the Diamond, we docked on the port side in every port we were in so go figure....
