Staying at the Orlando airport hyatt hotel day before Disney cruise in june 8, 2015. wondering when first Disney bus departure time from mco to port Canaveral.Thanks.

In my experience, about 9:20. It is technically scheduled for 9:30. The terminal opens at 10:30, but they allow the DCL bus people to go in first, before it is officially open to any of the people who drove or did private transportation.

We were actually the first family in the terminal once--listen to speech on bus, get off bus and move to security line while the other people were standing around like deer in headlights and waiting for their carry ons to come off the bus.

That is a hint--there is very minimal luggage space ON the bus, so what would be a carry on for a plane will go under the bus with you. Obviously, waiting 5 minutes for them to unload the "under the bus" junk is not a big deal. You can take a purse or diaper bag on the bus, but that's about it.

We are driving and are staying at a hotel near the port. What time you recommend should we head over to port, earlier the better?

Well, the terminal doesn't open until 10:30. You can sometimes drive in and park a little earlier than that (maybe 15 minutes). And, you will select a Port Arrival Time during your online check in process. Your selected PAT is tied to the actual boarding number you get at check in at the port.

Boarding doesn't begin until 11:15-11:30, so arriving at 10:30, you will be waiting about an hour before you can even get onboard.

What is your scheduled PAT (Port Arrival Time?) You will get this when you do on line check in. There is no point in showing up early if you have a PAT before 12 or 12:30--you'll just get to hang out in the terminal longer (not board earlier). If you have a time after 12:30, I'd show up about then because about 1, they will announce "Open boarding" and you'll be able to board at that time.
