So looking at flights and right now flying into PBI is about $200 cheaper for us. We are cruising out of FLL so am I insane considering PBI or what cuz mapquest is saying it's about an hour from FLL.

Insane, no. But you will lose probably half that savings getting to FLL, and back after your cruise. So, you might now be saving $100.

I booked my family of 4 flights from Ohare to PBI. Prime flying week for spring break April 3. Flights were $222.00 pp compared to well over $400.00 pp. I extended my stay so we are flying home 2 days post cruise. I figured I would rather stay longer for about the same price as flying into FLL. You can find inexpensive car rentals from PBI to FLL as well. Just google coupon codes & keep checking prices for price drops. With car rentals, you don't have to prepay so you can keep changing it.
