SUNNY D Posted March 7, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 7, 2015 We will be arriving late by train on 6/17 to Anchorage. Plan to stay overnight in a hotel and rest up before heading to the airport for a 2:20pm flight home on 6/18. Ideally would like to find a place that has both train and airport transport provided. Suggestions? Thank you!
AKStafford Posted March 7, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 7, 2015 I know the Clarion Suites downtown does an airport shuttle, and I'm pretty sure they do a railroad shuttle. http://www.clarionhotel.com/hotel-anchorage-alaska-AK030 Give them a call to double check though: (907) 222-5005
Budget Queen Posted March 7, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 7, 2015 The downtown Quality Inn offers both. But, I would suggest this not be a priority, as few hotels offer this. Cab rides aren't that much, to not consider hotels without shuttles.
STEVE-O Posted June 3, 2015 #4 Share Posted June 3, 2015 (edited) Just booked the Clarion for the end of May next year.....the prices are -not- on line after mid-May so you'll want to call direct. When the prices for "High Season" finally hit the website....they're expected to be appx $90 more than today's call in rate.( we paid $149) I verified free shuttle to/from the train station and the airport Edited June 3, 2015 by STEVE-O

TATraveler Posted June 5, 2015 #8 Share Posted June 5, 2015 We always use Comfort Inns, semi-consistently clean and good, decent "breakfast" and decently priced. There's an expensive Comfort Inn (Ship Creek) by the train station and a less expensive one (Airport) near the airport. Both have shuttles. Of course, in Alaska, prices are high. However, both hotels have an advanced booking rate that is significantly less.
TATraveler Posted June 5, 2015 #9 Share Posted June 5, 2015 Don't forget to ask for the AAA rate (if you have AAA). It can save you enough to pay for a membership after 3 days in Alaska....plus then you have AAA!
lynncarol Posted June 5, 2015 #10 Share Posted June 5, 2015 Last September we stayed 2 nights in Comfort Inn Ship Creek, a great choice. Free shuttle to train and airport. With AAA it was quite reasonable for Alaska.
