bcaha Posted March 12, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 12, 2015 I have seen the mini suites on the Getaway described as both king beds and queen beds. It makes a difference to us. If they do not have real king beds, then we will book regular balcony cabins. Can anyone say with certainty if the mini suites have king or queen beds? thank you! Demonyte Posted March 12, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 12, 2015 AFAIK only real suites have king beds, mini-suites and balconies have queen beds.
rvsullivan Posted March 12, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 12, 2015 According to NCL's website all mini suites have two beds that can be converted to a queen size, no mention at all of king size beds in mini suites. FYI, there are no mini suites in the Haven, those are full suites only.

jandj1224 Posted March 12, 2015 #5 Share Posted March 12, 2015 We are booked in a MB category on the Getaway. The NCL booking states MA & MB have King size beds. Can anyone who has stayed in this category confirm?
Meekofigaro Posted March 12, 2015 #6 Share Posted March 12, 2015 We had a MB on the Getaway and it was a king! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Nola26 Posted March 12, 2015 #7 Share Posted March 12, 2015 NCL.com says Queen, perhaps there's an error if passengers say they had a king. Call and probe to confirm, perhaps the category of Mini suite matters for bed type.

Can anyone who has stayed in this category confirm? NCL website for Getaway, this is for MA and MB: Located mid-ship with easy access to everything, these Mini-Suites feature two beds that convert to a queen, sofa bed and a private balcony. They only show kings for suites.

hawkeyetlse Posted March 12, 2015 #11 Share Posted March 12, 2015 How wide is a queen and how wide is a king? I always thought two twins pushed together made a king, but there has evidently been some bed inflation since I last looked into it…
bcaha Posted March 12, 2015 Author #12 Share Posted March 12, 2015 king size mattress dimensions are 76 inches wide by approximately 80 inches long – about 18 inches wider than a queen
hawkeyetlse Posted March 12, 2015 #13 Share Posted March 12, 2015 OK, I'm estimating from my photos that NCL's single beds are about 36 inches wide, and pushed together they make a 72 inch wide bed. So not quite king sized, but quite a bit wider than a standard queen.
