Ketchikan rain forest zipline

We will be in Ketchikan for the first time and I was thinking of booking the rainforest canapés tour for our family of 5. (Adult children)

 

Would we be missing out by not doing another kind of tour? Misty Fjord, boat tour, etc.?

 

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Has anybody done the zipline in Ketchikan? Is it worth doing? Or are we missing out on seeing something amazing during this port?

We have 4 stops all of which have zipline excursion available including British Columbia.

 

So we were also looking at Ketchikan zip line but wondering if we should do something else and just do the zip line in Victoria BC

It has been a few years since my adult son and I did the rainforest zipline through Princess. My son thought I would chicken out as a 58 year old lady afraid of heights. I loved it, as did he. The guides were very supportive of every move. Only dislike was my son's-he did not like the rope bridge we had to use. We were there in 2008.

If your time permits, any chance of doing the zip line and another excursion?

If traveling with kids, watch the minimum weight. My 8 year old weighs 50lbs and the only zipline I have ever seen that will let him go is in Skagway. Needless to say he is going. He is more than 520lbs from making minimum weight on most others in the world.

I'm also wondering about the bear creek zip lining. Would love to hear what it is really like. It's marked as "strenuous" on the princess shore excursions. Just what is strenuous about it as it says it's for families and first time zip liners.
