3 year old bed question

We are taking our now 2.5 year old on a 15 night cruise when she will be 3. She will be too big of a playpen and has never slept with us in bed. What can I do to keep her from rolling out of her bed? I'd rather not have to pack a bunch of bed rails with us!

Google 'shrunks'.

They have these awesome inflatable bed rails that we take everywhere. We also used them on NCL, but then our steward pointed out we could just ask for bed rails if we wanted them. Still, good for hotels and stuff. Our 3.5 yr old has never rolled over top of them..

On the floor, or roll up some towels (some will use a pool noodle!) and put them under the edge of the bottom sheet...does she fall out of bed at home a lot? If not...don't worry! If so, then put her on the floor...nowhere to fall!

Others have reported on this site that they have had success with turning a couch backwards facing the wall to create a bed for a small toddler. When our son was 3.5 he slept in a pull out couch without a problem (it was a bit lower than the bed and he was fine).

What line are you on? Our 3-year-old did just fine in a pull down bunk which came with rails as well as a few other cruises on the couch/ bed. Of course she has never fallen out of bed anyway, so it wasn't a concern of ours.
