10 cruises 1st for NCL Lots of bad reviews

Absolutely true. I've been on (heck, I don't actually remember) about 60 cruises. If you search CC for good things that I've said about any of them, good luck. But search for my complaints, you will find them. Not sure I like what this says about me but maybe it's just the common nature of all of us. Or at least I hope it's just not me:eek::o Did I actually enjoy most or all of the cruises, well what do you think. Would I have done that many if I didn't enjoy them?

It's human nature. If your blood pressure goes up, we will stand on a corner and tell anyone who will listen.

I am betting that you enjoyed just about everyone of them! (or you are a glutton for punishment!!!) :)

This is my 1st RCI cruise . I have cruised with carnival and NCL , both great cruise lines. But I have been reading ALOT of bad reviews . dang, thought we were moving up but not sure now !?!?!

I read 99% of time you have to go to pool bar for service , no servers .

One ice cream machine . carnival has lots of them.

Lots of unpleasant workers.

should I be worried ? I mean I can have fun just about anywhere but we are paying a lot more for RCI just would like good service .

Let me first say, I have only cruised on Royal....but having said that, I have taken to visiting the others cruise line boards. And found as many complainers there about those cruise line changes and disappointments (by some) about what happened on a particular cruise. What it says to me is simply, no line is perfect ALL the time, or EVERYTIME or AT ALL.

On any given day, something could go wrong (small or big) and you just have to work through it. But I would rather be cruising than at home working.

You write you have cruised on Carnival and NCL, and acknowledge they are great lines.....I am sure some things just did not go perfectly on every one of those cruises --- but overall, they were great.

All crew members are humans....I have personally never met a crew member who wasn't nice....maybe because I am nice to them. It goes both ways.

Over the 11 years that we have cruised, I have noticed a few less bar servers walking around.....but that is fine....for me the 'very occasional drinker' -- instead of having to say every 10 minutes "No Thank You".....I have to say it, a few less times per hour. Usually by the second day, since I enjoy the pool in generally the same area, the servers know not to ask me, unless I am 'calling one over' which I do periodically -- but I can also walk to the bar.

On my first cruise, I thought that booze was the same as water on the ship -- judging from the amount of bar servers, everywhere.....and I guess that is what it was...and still is, but a little less obtrusively for the 'occasional drinker' like me.

On some ships there are more ice cream machines than others.....but the only ship that I can remember having only one, was Her Majesty.

The entertainment staff has always been very good on Royal....and that is very important to DH and me. They keep me busy, if I want that, and if I don't want to be busy....I can do that as well.

So.....leave behind the negative words, and set you mind's dial on "Enjoy" and you will.

My husband & I haven't cruised nearly as often as many here and have thus far sailed 3 times with Princess, the rest with Royal, 2004, 2008, 2011, (2014 3 consecutive cruises), and again this Oct 2015. Each one we have enjoyed for the Ports we visited, the people we met and wonderful crew. Only the 2011 LOS TA did we have some issues but they were minor compared to everything else we enjoyed. We judge each individually, so never fault the entire line because of one less then perfect sailing.

Anthem will be based out of NJ soon enough. You can get your fix then :)

I know but have you seen the threads that have popped up lately. You'd think sending two Quantum Class to the Far East was like stealing a kids communion money.

I was thinking the same thing... Do people really run on cruise??? [emoji43] [emoji33] [emoji39]

You guys are killing me .... Lol.... Yep nothing like having a cup of coffee early in the morning sitting outside then off for a morning run. :) I'm totally serious !

I'll be leaving in July on the Indy , I also surprised my husband and got a jr.suite . ;) so excited about that .

Another question for you Royals, can you order steak every night in the. MDR?

Is there place to get cheeseburgers ,hot dogs around the pool area ?

How are the casinos on Indy? ( for the gamblers ) Thank you guys !

Hey you RCI people are ok ! :)

I made up in my mind since my very 1st cruise that I will always book a cruise because I want to go on that particular cruise and not because of any review. If I go on a cruise and if it is bad (Haven't had one yet) then it will be "Oh Well", but I always formulate my own opinion and not based off what I have read.

There are plenty of good balanced reviews that give good information. Stay away from those "DOOM AND GLOOM" reports where everything is just so God awful bad, everything is just gone to h*ell on Royal and will never cruise on Royal reviews. A lot of those reports, I see where the people are still cruising Royal.

I say go and judge for yourself and then if you don't like it be like...."Oh Well" and go back to what you like!

I'm not sure you're allowed to talk about running, steak, cheeseburgers , hotdogs, and casinos in the same posting. I think I felt a kink in the time-space continuum just now. [emoji273]

As for the steak, yes. You can feast on steak each night if you so choose and Johnny Rockets should appease your burger craving, giving you reason to run again. Ah, I see how it works now. [emoji6]
