amscene1 Posted March 30, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 30, 2015 Booked 12/5/2015 escape cruise for me and dw along with some friends, noticed in a few days it's almost sold out and prices were raised. I was hoping to add some additional cabins to the booking but now it looks like it won't happen due to availability and price. What is this slot tournament, is this something NCL arranged like a free cruise type of deal for its casino VIP members? Is there a possibility that more cabins will open up and prices will drop? Please explain...
Casino Comp Chick Posted March 30, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 30, 2015 http://www.ncl.com/tripleshot Yes it is a tournament, invite only. As far as cabins opening up you won't know until final payment date (that's when a lot of cancellations happen)
garycarla Posted March 30, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 30, 2015 I surely do not have any facts on the number of people onboard for the slot tournament. But, I highly doubt that is the reason the ship is full. After all, the casino can only hold a small number of people in the first place. As a CAS regular, we get those offers often. Never taken them up on a slot tournament offer as we can usually get a "free" cabin on other dates.
rxs148 Posted August 6, 2015 #4 Share Posted August 6, 2015 Yes may go down or may not ... don't forget NEW ship so a lot of travel companies/agents may have blocked off rooms for groups. Keep checking prices, I believe they have to release Group rooms back into inventory 75 or 90 days from sailing. But again they could have sold all the rooms in their group Slot Tournament... well I know there are slot tournaments and Black Jack Tournaments at different times during the cruise, $20 - $25 to participate. Winner of each mini Tournament goes on a final on the cruise for $500 and an invitation to a Major $100,000 Tournament. Is this the Tournament you are talking about? Or maybe you are on the cruise that is hosting $100,000, then you have to have won a tournament or look on Ebay lots of times the winners of Mini Tournaments can't go to on Grand Prize cruise so they sell their invitations. Cruise companies don't care.
