WisconsinFan Posted April 13, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 13, 2015 Hello, I am looking for opinions from those of you who like to snorkel. We will be traveling with another family who is excited to go snorkeling. If you have snorkeled in Grand Cayman and Cozumel, if you could only snorkel in one port which port would it be? Grand Cayman or Cozumel? We have been to both ports, but have not done snorkeling at either. If Grand Cayman, who would you book with? The "kids" are 21, 19 and two 17 year olds if that would make a difference. Thanks in advance for any advice.
BrotherCraig Posted April 13, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 13, 2015 If you want coral, Cozumel. Even after a lot of it was destroyed by a hurricane, it is still great. As for Grand Cayman, still good but it is mostly good for Sandbar snorkeling to see the rays, etc. Just my opinion.
jsanto79 Posted April 13, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 13, 2015 I heard Cozumel is the best place to snorkel.
jerrya72 Posted April 13, 2015 #4 Share Posted April 13, 2015 I can only speak for Cozumel but the snorkeling there was great. We booked through Cozumel-tours they have a bunch of different options. Have Fun!
Capt_BJ Posted April 13, 2015 #5 Share Posted April 13, 2015 Cayman has great sites and you don't need to do an excursion to get there . . . look into EDEN ROCK and SUNSET HOUSE EDEN is closest to the tender landing .... and very good .... near Paradise Rest' for after. BUT sometimes crowded BECAUSE they are closest. http://www.edenrockdive.com/ Sunset House is a bit down the road (about 1/3 mile past EDEN). Similar profile in the water but normally WAY LESS folks cuz cruise people won't walk that far! AND when you finish ... there is MY BAR ..... consistently rated one of the top bars in the Carib' http://www.sunsethouse.com/
