I couldn't find out anything official about that. The couple sitting next to us said that they had gotten shut out of eating the the Crown Grill on the 3 day in Nov. 2014 because so many people had booked on the cruise prior so this time around they pre-booked the restaurant prior to coming on board. How they explained it was that they pre-paid and were guaranteed a spot in the venue but had to book the day and time once on board.

 

I asked later on about it and was told that Princess didn't offer that so I honestly have no clue!
