If you did not have FTTP...

Were you sorry after you were on board? We are usually loyal to RCCL cruisers and are trying the Dream. Haven't hear of this before and somehow just can't see spending $50 to be "first". I can spend $50 lots of other ways. Your opinions?

I would probably buy it if it didn't come with being Platinum, but once boarded, and if you don't have any tender ports, it doesn't really get you much. I'm always in a hurry to board, but not so much for debarkation. Sometimes the long line at Guest Services being worked by 3-4 people moves faster than the short line being worked by 1 or less people.

If you are impatient then FTTF is worth it. If you are laid back and going with the flow, maybe not. It's up to you.

Not worth it for us...I mean...that's at least 6 drinks for us! We don't carry enough on to NEED our room ready as soon as we get on (I carry a backpack that has my wallet, camera, kindle, and 2 6 packs of soda...no big deal to carry on my back until we can get into the room and if I do get tired, husband will carry it). We don't normally get there early enough for it to matter anyway....if it's the start of my vacation I really don't care to get up at 5AM just to be one of the first on the ship. We get up and leave home between 7 & 8 to get there between 11 & 12....Check in was pretty quick last time and we had time to grab lunch, go check out the ship, drop stuff off in our room and make phone calls letting family know we were safe and say bye before muster drill.

On our cruise last month, we did not purchase it. We boarded exactly 5 minutes after the FTTF people. Never had to stand in line at guest services and our rooms were ready when we finished lunch. Tenders were also not used on this cruise. I think that would be the only reason I MIGHT consider it.

It was great for debarkation for us. We had an early shuttle and were spending the day on the beach, so we were eager to get off as quickly as possible. It also came in handy when we needed to use Guest Services a couple times, we never had to wait. I think we'd do it again for those conveniences more than anything else!

FTTF gives you priority boarding, debarkation, special line for Guest Services, priority tender and priority for pre-cruise dining assignments.

Knew I forgot something....

Cabins ready when you board.

Otherwise cabins open around 1-1:30.

Carnival usually boards around 11:30.

When FTTF first came out this question was VERY popular. Someone posted something I remember. It went something like, "the value of $50 is different for everyone" While my husband works the big job that supports us, I work as a daycare provider for cruise and kid money (that's what I call it). And while $50 dollars is a small portion of his salary, it's a good 1/2 day work with 1 year olds for me, so not worth it. If you are patient, and don't mind waiting a bit to get on, or for a tender, not in a hurry to get off, it's not worth it. To some people, it is absolutely worth it . Only you really know the value of it for you.

It's probably the best $50 you will spend in certain ports, especially with the mega liners. Get it and enjoy priority embarkation and tendering among 3,000 plus cruisers. Before we were platinum, we waited almost 2 hours once for tendering.

$50 to me is well worth not having to lug bags around when you first get on the ship. any other perk that comes with it, is just a bonus. It's a fifth of an average night out, so it is worth it. Maybe if it was $50 each for all 4 of us, I might not get.

If it was based solely on getting on the ship first I'd say no. But you never know when you will have an issue and need guest services. We did luggage express last cruise and mine got messed up. Three trips to GS last sea day to fix. Each time I went there was probably 20 people in the regular line. No waiting in the VIP line. That right there was worth $50 of my time. We also went to HMC and went to GS and was escorted down to the first tender. But getting on first-ish and having our room ready is super nice. Drop our stuff and head for lunch and a drink. No dragging around carry-ons

I bought it for my upcoming cruise as 2 ports are tender ports.

I used to get to port early and though I got in near first, it became a zoo pretty quick with the whole ship waiting with their carry ons all over the place trying to eat lunch. I now get there at 1:30 and pretty much walk right onto the ship and to my room so I definitely didn't by it for priority boarding.

I hope it was worth it lol.

I added this sentence because I think we needed one more sentence that started with "I".

Then spend your money lots of other ways. I'll happily take your FTTF slot

We didn't have it on our last cruise and I see both sides of it. We didn't need it for embarkation. We got there and by the time we got through the lines everyone was boarding, that was about 12. However, the flip side is we would have skipped all those lines and been on around 11:30 or so. Is 30 minutes worth it? It would have also been nice to go set our carry on down, I got tired of carrying it around. We did not have a tender port but it would be absolutely worth it for that, especially if you have an excursion not booked through Carnival (which is the case on our next cruise). At one point I went to guest services and could have used it then but luckily there was no line so no issue then but if I had needed guest services on Day 1 or the last day, I would have really appreciated it. The biggest moment of regret was when we disembarked. We had to sit and wait forever and it would have been really nice to be off a lot earlier. I can say that the $50 would be worth the price just to disembark right away. Now, because we were one of the last ones off the ship, we got off and the line went super quickly. So, if I can't get it in the future then I won't be too upset because I know things still go fine but if it is available, yes, I am absolutely grabbing one since it is only $50 or $25 per person in our case.

I can't see us ever getting it.

We've never really had to wait to board, usually get through the lines in about 30 minutes. The only thing we carry on is my purse with necessities, not really a big deal to carry around.

Rarely use guest services but if I need to use them and they have a line, I will wait at the Lobby Bar until the line goes down.

Might consider it for tenders if I have an early private excursion booked, but we usually aren't in a hurry to be the first off the ship. Not in a hurry for debarkation either; they seem to take early flights into consideration when calling zones.

I was reading a thread last night where some ladies were talking about stalking the page for it & someone had luckily grabbed one that came open (guessing it was sold out?)

Can someone tell me how to do this? I can't seem to find anything & I consider myself pretty computer literate
