shore excursion policy

I am reading and finding out that the Celebrity cruise line debits or charges your account the minute you book an excursion. We are over two months out and not knowing what we wish to do yet, I am hesitate to book an excursion,have them charge the card and then change my mind and have to wait to get the monies credited back,etc.I am also not clear about their cancellation policy. I have heard that the bookings for the shore excursions is closed ten days prior to the sailing and then you can only purchase tours on board.

 

Does anyone know their cancellation policy? Other crusie lines allowed us to book an excursion and NOT charge us, then we got on board and had till the day before the excursion to cancel the tour and not get penalized

The main reason to reserve early is to be sure you get the excursion you want.

 

I too use a debit card and like the fact that all my excursions are now paid for. That will less the :eek: factor when I get the shipboard bill.

We have pre-booked and later canceled one or two, Have not had a problem as long as you cancel in the correct time frame before schedule date with no questions asked.

 

The credit was on our ship board account fast, almost before we were back to the stateroom. :cool:

I forgot to add that I did cancel an excursion (70 days from sailing). I only took 3 days for the refund to show up on my debit card.

We prebooked an excursion for our Hawaii cruise, then cancelled it the day before while on the ship & it was credited to ur shipboard account immediately. I wouldn't worry.

This makes me feel more secure in booking the ones we dont want to see close because they sre full.
