OBC used for shore excursions

We're sailing the Quantum on the last 3 legs to China. We have received OBC from Royal and our travel agent. I would like to use it up on some shore excursions. If I put excursions "in my cart" now, but don't pay for them, will they still be reserved for me once I am on board? Then if I confirm them at the Shore Excursion desk, I think my OBC would cover the cost.

Is that the best way to do it?

That's an interesting question, unfortunately I don't know the answer but my gut feeling is that until you pay you won't have a reserved excursion. Unfortunately, leaving it until onboard the ship to book could lead to the excursions being fully booked.

The answer is very simple and very direct.

On Board Credit can only be spent ON BOARD.

If you buy a shore excursion now, your credit card will be charged immediately.

Putting something in your 'cart' does nothing to save it.

If you want to be sure that you will have that shore excursion on your cruise, buy it now.

If you want to take the chance that it won't sell out and you can pay for it with your OBC, book it on board.

If you end up not spending all of your OBC, you can get cash on your account in the casino for a 5% fee. So if you have $100 left, and take $100 out in the casino, they will hand you $100 in cash and put $105 on your SeaPass account.
