Carnival paradise excursions??

I have been looking on carnival .com for some reasonably priced excursions for our family of 7. We will be sailing May 30th to Grand Cayman and Cozumel, and I would like to find something fun to do with our kids (ages 7-11, and 19yr old stepson) I have heard that it is cheaper to book outside of carnival for excursions? If so does anyone have any recommendations?

In Grand Cayman maybe do an island tour for $15-$20 pp that ends at 7 mile beach. After summer is over they can inform their teachers/friends they've been to hell and back this summer.

Cozumel is good for beaches with kids. Maybe go to a ruin if they like history.

You could book a Stingray City Tour with Stingray City United, you would get to go to stingray City which is a two hour tour after which you will have the rest of the day to go to the beach or turtle farm or wherever else you please.
