thenoflygal Posted May 5, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 5, 2015 Hello, I'm curious about the alternate dining in King's Court, evenings on the QM2. Should we make reservations as soon as we embark? Is it possible to make same-day reservations? We are interested in Lotus, La Piazza, and the Chef's Galley. Has anyone enjoyed any of these? tv24 Posted May 5, 2015 #2 Share Posted May 5, 2015 This has been one of our favorite features on Cunard. We just got off the QMII and dined in both Lotus & Coriander. They had plenty of space available and we did not need to plan way in advance, although you should not count on same-day reservations. Coriander was superb, especially after we asked for extra-spicey entrees. However Lotus was a big disappointment. It seemed as though all of the spices had been ripped out of the food. One diner commented, "The food was all beautiful, different colors with each dish, but it all tasted the same." No ginger, little pepper, few chilis, no garlic, just a little lemon grass. And for one Japanese dish, they used wasabe mayonaise, not the real thing! Horrors. Very dumbed down for the palates of those on board, and recipes designed by the German head chef. Too bad. Hopefully it will get back on track on other voyages.
