reedprincess Posted May 12, 2015 #2 Share Posted May 12, 2015 Anyone have excursion suggestions that would be fun for 5- and 2-year-old kids? Tough to say, as no one here knows your kids. Only you know what they like to do, how they travel, whether a few hours in a vehicle would be too much, or whether you would need to get straight to somewhere, etc.... Some popular kids ones include Reduit Beach, Pigeon Island National Landmark, Pirate ship with SeaSPray cruises, catamaran trips, speed boat trips, volcano and sulpher springs, etc....Most involve a good amount of travel time though - except Reduit and Pigeon Island (only about 25-35 mins by vehicle) If you told us a bit more about what they (and you) would like to do, we can help out more.... prindi Posted May 17, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted May 17, 2015 Thank you for the ideas ReedPrincess! The kids like things like swimming, animals, kid amusement rides, trampoline jumping, water slides, and other similar activities. Being on a cruise, we won't have much time to spend traveling to and from a location, so something that is probably around 30 minutes or less from the cruise port. Thanks for any help you or anyone else can provide!
reedprincess Posted May 17, 2015 #4 Share Posted May 17, 2015 Then Reduit would be your best bet, followed by Pigeon Island. Reduit is in Rodney Bay, with lots of restaurants and shop, long stretch of swimming beach, water sports including tubing, banana rides, etc and come this summer, should have a large water activity playground...Pigeon Island includes lovely beach, large grassy area for running, ruins, nice dining, etc... Cab ride to Reduit will be $30us in way, while Pigeon Island will be $35 one way. Enjoy your visit.

Aligatorcrusing Posted May 28, 2015 #6 Share Posted May 28, 2015 Just a word of caution ! At times there can be strong undercurrents and large waves which seem to come from nowhere, even when you are close to the beach at Rodney Bay. My husband and I were both badly injured recently by being knocked over by a large wave and almost drowned. There have been drownings there this year. At present there are still no warning signs or lifeguards on the beach. I am sure you will find a suitable beach for your children and enjoy your holiday.
