We always dress for formal nights. On my cruise next week , me and my daughter are both wearing long gowns.which is what we usually wear.

The second formal night is usually not as dressy as the first formal night on a 7 night cruise there are 2 formal nights.

This year my dresses are both formal and both in blue, turquoise colors.

My daughters are both in the blue family too and hers have gems and sequins.

You will see glamorous beaded longs gowns and cocktail dresses and some ppl do wear "Sunday Best" dress t formal night.

It's a fun experience. And we take tons of pics on formal night at the photo booths/stations.

Have fun on your cruise !

What I don't get is why some people don't like dressing up

well, a few reasons:

they have to dress up every day for work and don't want to on vacation.

they are sahm and don't have dress up clothes anymore that fit correctly.

Or hate shoes. I can't wear tennis shoes with a fancy dress...well, I did with my gown, cause floor length, I have white keds.

I fit into all three.

I still dress up for mdr, only for dh. And oddly he does as well. I dressed up more before kid, cause had more nicer clothes that fit correctly. If I could live in my slippers and pj's, I would, but I'm 21 anymore and had to grow up, Plus my three year old won't let me.

You don't have to wear heels a nice pair of flats are good and you don't need an expensive gown, they also have resale and rental store for formal dresses.
