Food Quality

Recommended Posts

We were on the Spirit last week for the sixth time, and were very disappointed with the menu choice and the quality of the food in the MDR. On previous cruises we went there for breakfast and dinner, but this time, after the first morning, we went to the Lido for breakfast every day. We had dinner in the Compass Rose, although the food wasn't nearly as good as previously, but we kept hoping the food would improve.

For my main course on the Formal Evening, I chose braised steak, which was inedible. When the Maitre d' asked if I'd enjoyed my meal, I said no, and told him why - and he was quite rude!

Apart from the food, everything else was good. Waiters and cabin stewards were as friendly and helpful as before, and the ship was looking good.

I had meat I couldn't chew through once, and left most of it, and when the plates were cleared we were asked if all was ok, so I said there seemed to be a problem with the meat, and he said "good, good" as he took the plates away.

Not sure if some are geared to listen but presume all has to be ok so make the good remark automatically.
