Nancy48 Posted May 21, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 21, 2015 Hi, finally been allocated our cabin for our British Isles cruise. We booked a DE category and said no upgrades! They have given us an "upgrade" to a DC and I am worried about this cabin. First of all on my deck plan it says balcony only opened when in port, I guess this is something to do with the lifeboat gear, but why can't we open the balcony? Secondly it says can accommodate 3rd and 4th person, does this mean beds hanging from the ceiling? And finally it's above the theatre, and I am guessing noise late at night? Can anyone give me any more information on any of my worries. And also can I complain as we said no upgrades? Many thanks Sue
Grego Posted May 21, 2015 #2 Share Posted May 21, 2015 That cabin location doesn't show as obstructed and is in a location that doesn't seem to be affected by opening a balcony door while underway. Those cabins forward such as 101, etc. do have some forward facing aspect and would prevent opening while underway. The cabin location you have is far enough back the theatre should not be an issue. If the cabin indicates 3 and 4th passenger capability, the beds do come down from the ceiling. Your category also indicates a larger cabin/balcony configuration. Nancy48 Posted May 21, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted May 21, 2015 Thank you Grego for your speedy and reassuring reply. I am wondering if the not opening balcony whilst at sea is about the4th bed, as it is quite clearly marked on my b ochre plan, although not on the online deck plans. Ah well, your reassurance on the noise from the theatre was most welcome. Thank you, Regards Sue
