AEGBRG Posted May 21, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 21, 2015 Hi everyone, We are thinking about doing a British Isles cruise with Celebrity this July. For those who have taken the cruise around July, what are the sea conditions like? Some in my family can get sea sick if the waters get pretty rough. Please share your experiences and overall thoughts on the British Isles cruise. Thanks in advance.
CruiserBruce Posted May 21, 2015 #2 Share Posted May 21, 2015 (edited) The seas can be rough. They can be calm. Likely they will be somewhere in between. They were calm for use a couple of years ago, but that doesn't predict what they will be for you. The seas are not predictable in advance. If you look at the history of D Day, you will see they had just about every type of seas in June 1944, from calm to violent storms. If you have issues with sea sickness, you need to be prepared everyday you are on a ship. Edited May 21, 2015 by CruiserBruce
Ine Posted May 21, 2015 #3 Share Posted May 21, 2015 Indeed as mentioned you never know. However we sailed last August and the seas (Ireland, Scotland, Norway) were extremely calm.
ozark74 Posted May 21, 2015 #4 Share Posted May 21, 2015 We did the around the UK last August and September. Overall it was calm but we had one rough day in the Irish Sea. Could not tender into the port of Dunmore East which is for Waterford, Ireland. So we ended up with sea day.
dsrdsrdsr Posted May 21, 2015 #5 Share Posted May 21, 2015 Hi everyone, We are thinking about doing a British Isles cruise with Celebrity this July. Please share your experiences and overall thoughts on the British Isles cruise. Thanks in advance. Depends on the weather. My parents went on a round-Britain cruise in May, when on average it's rougher than July, and had a fortnight of almost-endless sunshine with only one port missed (Fair Isle), on a cruise where they were landing by Zodiac inflatables. By and large, in July, the seas are unlikely to be severe. But no promises.
