Cruisermom2nick Posted May 21, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 21, 2015 Hi friends~ I see the NCL UK site has 4 offers I really like- is there a real benefit to booking via that site? Can I do it from the US? Has anyone else done this? Thanks!:)
EaglesWin Posted May 22, 2015 #2 Share Posted May 22, 2015 I'm fairly certain that you can't do it from the US.

SuiteCruisin14 Posted May 22, 2015 #4 Share Posted May 22, 2015 Yes, it can be done. I booked my October 3 day Escape cruise from Hamburg to Southampton because it was not yet available in USA. Be aware that the re-booking or changing things may not be possible and have penalties. Read the rules carefully before you make the reservation. lynnquenby Posted May 22, 2015 #5 Share Posted May 22, 2015 It works for us in UK to book via US so can't see why you wouldn't be able to! Just be mindful you will be tied into £ and not $ so need to consider impact of currency fluctuations and additionally you do not get the same benefits of price drops with a UK booking that you have in US. Make sure you fully understand all the T&Cs as they will be different!! HTH
jomf Posted May 22, 2015 #6 Share Posted May 22, 2015 Also note that you cannot cancel after booking without losing your deposit, no matter how far out the cruise is.
callmehalia Posted May 22, 2015 #7 Share Posted May 22, 2015 And that if you don't pay for the whole cruise when you book, you'll have to phone to pay, and if you want to upgrade or change anything, you'll be back on the phone to the UK (who are only open 9am-6pm M-F and 9am-5pm on Saturdays, so with the time difference, it might be awkward). FreestyleNovice Posted May 22, 2015 #8 Share Posted May 22, 2015 And, if you want to buy a FCC it will be in the currency of the cruise booking you're on the ship with. In your case it will be a FCC in GBP (charged in USD, the onboard currency) and will/can only be handled by NCL.co.uk or UK travel agents.
