On NCL how does the soda package work, do you have to use your ID or can you just walk up to the bar to get soda refills with the provided cups. We will have multiple package and Im trying to figure out how it works. We have sailed RCCI and like their soda machines. We have ultimate beverage packages for some of the adults, we will use for adult beverages but not all of us drink soda and was wondering if we could give the soda cup to one of the kids.

The cup doesn't get you anything. You need to present your card for both child and adults. If you get the UDP as part of a package the kids get the soda card as part of it. If you are purchasing the UDP then you must purchase the soda package if your kids want soda.

huh, we had the exact opposite experience. We had the soda package and all we had to do is provide our soda mug, and they refilled it. In fact, we pulled out our key cards to show the sticker and the bartender said it wasn't necessary; "we know you have the soda package when you carry that mug". After that, we never presented the card when we had the mug with us and had no trouble at all getting refills.

Thanks for the replies, on RCCL we didnt have to show our card just hand over our mug to be filled. I have the soda packages for the kids but hate the idea of them pulling their card out everywhere, dont want to loose that thing!

I have seen it work that way too.

But don't be surprised if staff giggles at you for lugging around that cup all over the ship. ;)

We didn't have one giggle at us...in fact most said they liked it because it quickly told them that it was just a quick serve item and not something like a mojito or martini that required more time to make.
