Place to store carry-on luggage

We are doing the 4 nt. Bahamas on the Disney Dream on 6/22. We have an early PAT, and understand that we can't get into cabin until 1:30, leaving us plenty of time for lunch and exploring the ship. Would be nice if we could store our carry-ons somewhere and not have to drag them. Is this possible??

Only if you have a Concierge room. You can store them in the Concierge Lounge. Other than that, you have to handle them yourself until your room is ready.

No, there is no place to store your carry on stuff other than in the concierge lounge if you are a concierge level guest.

In your carry on, pack your documents, medications, computer and other valuables, and adult beverages ONLY. And use a bag with wheels. Sorry, but I tell my cruise buddies it is called "luggage" because you get to LUG it.

On the positive side, even if you board at 11:15 (when boarding starts), figure an hour for lunch...and basically it is only another hour till your cabin will be available.

Also, right after boarding is a great time to swim. Kids can wear suits under their clothes to board, and mom can sit on the side with the luggage while watching them swim.

If you take disney transportation and have an extra tag, you can tag the carry-on when you get off the bus at the port and they will take it to your room.

We each had one checked bag, a small carry on, and a backpack on our recent cruise. We put luggage tags on the carry-on bags after getting off the bus and they were brought to our room.

If there is nothing in that bag that you need, you can have it tagged at the airport or at WDW and not even have to mess with it on the bus. You are not limited to the 2 per person luggage tags that come in your cruise documents.

If tagging it at WDW, you must have it ready to go at 8 am. Extra tags are available at bell services. At the airport, just tell the CM that you need to tag it to send with the luggage and they will handle it for you.

It sounds like you had a checked bag and a carry on on the airplane--they are happy to take these both as checked luggage to the ship.

Just be aware that the checked bags are not handled in a particularly gentle fashion. You want to be sure there are no breakables/squashables in there:

Yes, the bags are pretty much just tossed onto the pile before being distributed to the rooms.

Our family of three walks on with a beach bag and a backpack. We wear swimsuits under shorts and t-shirts and let the baggage people take everything else to our room.

We don't talk valuables on board except a laptop and everyone has an iPad or other reader. The beach bag has lotion, pool cups, hats and sunglasses. With an 11:30 PAT we are usualy in the hotel by 11:45, watching all of the people walk by draging suitcases, pillows and coats from the plane flights.

If you fly, bring a mostly empty suitcase to put all of your cool weather or travel clothes in it, then let them check it. Our suitcases are almost always there by the muster drill, if not, they arrive just after. Yes I know they are not guaranteed that early, but we've never missed first dinner, ever.

Even if you carry on at the airport, you can check anything except bags with drinks at the port, keeping in mind it will be handled like the above picture. There is no need to lug anything much around. I had a shoulder bag with the electronics and my husband had a backpack with his CPAP, and that's all we carried on. The luggage was all checked.

When we took liquor on, we had to wheel it around until our room opened.
