Memmy09 Posted June 29, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 29, 2015 Has anyone noted the change to the staterooms formerly called "panoramic" now called "preferred ocean view?" Description on the deck plan now has been amended with this info: Note: staterooms 7082, 7084, 7086, 7088, 7582, 7584, 7586, 7588 do not have floor to ceiling window. We did not know this when we booked, and have booked 3 of these rooms. Has anyone seen what these rooms are like? Thanks
mollyeilis Posted June 29, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 29, 2015 We had 7584 in October. They do not have the literal floor to ceiling windows. They still have a lovely window situation and we would stay in that room again. I bet if you just looked for threads about pano rooms or vision pano rooms on this very board you could find some pictures pretty quick. Or googled a room number and vision. :)
MADflyer Posted June 29, 2015 #3 Share Posted June 29, 2015 (edited) I think the issue with the name change is to distinguish them from the Panoramic staterooms that are being added to Voyager and Freedom class ships in the dry dock. These are on deck 12 forward on these ships. These Preferred Ocean View staterooms were also cabins that were added in the dry dock for each of the Vision class ships taking the place of the card room and libraries. They are mid-ship. I had one of these on Legend and the cabin was absolutely fantastic. Together with Splendour these are 220 sq ft. As the Vision class ships were built in pairs, the other ships, including Vision have slightly different construction and thus these cabins are 193 or 200 sq ft. on these ships. I really had a lot of extra space on Legend and what they are referring to there is that on Legend the entire wall is glass, while on Vision there is some more sub-structure around the windows so they are not entirely glass, but glass and metal frame. http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/cabinclass/cabinTypes/cabinType/home.do?br=R&cabincls=O&cabinType=PV Edited June 29, 2015 by MADflyer
Rare orville99 Posted June 29, 2015 #4 Share Posted June 29, 2015 What's interesting is they have this same notation when you go out to the Enchantment booking page, and on Enchantment the cabins the OP listed aren't even PV cabins. On Enchantment, the PV's on deck 7 start with 7098 and 7598.

Do they have the floor to ceiling window?
mollyeilis Posted October 3, 2016 #7 Share Posted October 3, 2016 No Vision pano rooms (or rooms formerly know as pano rooms) have the door to ceiling (I still quibble with this even on freedom...they have a ledge so it's not truly to the floor) windows. And they are still wonderful rooms that I would book again (as soon as the casinos go smoke free because of our experience when it was crummy weather and all the smokers came indoors for two days and the centrum was impossible for my lungs and the smoke was closing in on coming into our room) happily.
