Bagpipe purchase in Edinburgh?

We are traveling on a British Isles cruise in a couple weeks, and my father-in-law is interested in making a bagpipe purchase. Does anyone have a recommendation in the Edinburgh area?

Now I'm sure nobody has asked that question before.

 

There's a shop in St Mary's Street which is just off the Royal Mile between the Castle and Holyrood Palace so in the main tourist area. Here's their website:

There's also one at the West End of Princes Street, close to Haymarket Station. I don't know where you're docking but if you were coming in by train, this would be convenient.

Forty or more years ago there used to be one on the Royal Mile itself. Turns out they were the provider of bagpipes for the McLean (Virginia ) Highlanders marching band. Rents being what they are I'm not surprised to hear the bagpipe shop was left that prime address. However your FIL might inquire of whatever store he patronizes if they're the bagpipe suplier for that McLean VA school.
