Is it possible to buy tickets for New York Water Taxi at Battery Park on the day....? we will visit NYC 31 Aug to 2 Sept this year.

I would not like to buy online ahead of time in case of bad weather...

Is it advisable to walk from 9/11 Memorial to Battery Park or should we rather take the free shuttle bus "Downtown Connection" ? At what stop do we get off for the Water Taxi ?

Where will we find Metro Card vending machines...we plan to take the No 20 bus from West 42nd to Lower Manhattan.

SO MANY Questions...Please HELP.

Sincere thanks.

It might be helpful to know exactly what your intent is. Are you just using this for water-based sightseeing? If so, because of it's limited routes you might be better served by taking a Circle Line tour from Pier 83 at West 42nd St. and 12th Ave. You'll get a much more comprehensive water-based tour of NY.

If you're doing the NY Water Taxi combination tour with the 9/11 Museum, and you're coming from Midtown Manhattan, instead of taking the bus to Battery Park, you can board the NY Water Taxi at Pier 79, 39th St. and 12th Ave. and take the ferry downtown.

Thank you, njhorseman...your suggestion makes a lot of sense !

Do you know if we can buy the tickets on the day at the departure points for the Water Taxi ?

Thanks.

Jasjas.

You can buy tickets at your point of departure on the day you're going to use the service. However if you were planning to do their combination tour with the 9/11 Museum, the museum tickets are issued for specific entry times so there's no guarantee that the time you may prefer will be available.

Just check out their FAQ and question #10..

How do I buy tickets?

You may buy a ticket one of three ways: through our website, by calling (212) 742-1969, or by purchasing at your point of departure.

Google is your friend...
