babyclaytonmom Posted July 13, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 13, 2015 I've been to Grand Turk 3 or 4 times but have always done snorkel tours (White Sands is great BTW). Doing the golf cart this time. I know I've read about the lighthouse and Pilroy Beach. Where else should we stop? We will be there from 7:00-2:00 so probably going around from 8:00-1:00ish. What should we stop and do/see? What beach is the best for snorkeling (we have our own gear). Thanks!
Rare crewsweeper Posted July 13, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 13, 2015 Pillroy Beach (Bohio Resort) for snorkeling. There'll be a charge for loungers if you're not a guest at the resort. But you might want to check out Governors Beach nearer the cruise port either heading out or coming back. It appears to be a bit deserted at present, no loungers or drink stands but there may be a bathroom open. Stop in town at Sandbar for a nice lunch. There's a Saltworks that you can visit, if that interests you. That's about it. Definitely try to time it so that you return the cart by 1P, if not earlier. It's a 10 minute walk back to the pier and sometime the boarding lines can get long closer to departure time.

Loucat Posted July 21, 2015 #5 Share Posted July 21, 2015 Did a new golf cart company open? Last threads indicated issues with a previous company. Hope someone picked this up as on our first two trips here; we loved the golf carts and then started having mechanical problems and no one could reach the original owner for rentals. Lucky Granny Posted November 7, 2015 #7 Share Posted November 7, 2015 The golf cart sounds good. Where do you rent the carts and do you have to do it ahead of time? Also, how much do they cost? I've seen these questions asked but no good answers. Thanks if you can help. :):)
rtap23 Posted November 7, 2015 #8 Share Posted November 7, 2015 We rented ours at http://www.karibarentals.com They cost $100. You need to reserve ahead of time to guarantee one for yourself. They ask for $50 to reserve and you pay the balance in cash when you get there.
Lucky Granny Posted January 9, 2016 #9 Share Posted January 9, 2016 I just checked the website and it says they are not taking reservations at this time. Repair and upkeep, apparently. Any other companies recommended?
rtap23 Posted January 10, 2016 #10 Share Posted January 10, 2016 I sent them an email yesterday at karibarental@gmail.com to ask a few questions for our July visit and he responded in a few hours
PTAngel Posted January 28, 2016 #11 Share Posted January 28, 2016 I reserved a cart for March a couple of months ago & they didn't ask me for a deposit. I do have my email confirmation. Donna
