BBC video clip about Marseille

Hmm...... looks less appealing now! Not because of the crime thing - but it didn't show Marseille off at all.

 

I am planning on wandering around the old town but that film made it look as if there is just rejeneration by building weird shaped glass buildings!

Marseille is a lovely city with a very beautiful old port area in the city centre. Billions of euros have been spent on new hotels, museums and other facilities as part of the European capital of culture and there are some lovely beaches near to the city centre. The cathedral is enormous and definitely worth visiting as it is really stunning inside.

 

For anyone interested in modern architecture, the MUCEM is a very beautiful piece of architecture particularly at night when it is all lit up

Marseille has changed a lot from its previous image but it is no different to most cities in that there are nice areas and bad areas. There are more than enough things to keep you entertained for a day in Marseille
