$166 Food upgrade?

Our friends are sailing to Alaska with NCL. They have been contacted by NCL asking if they would be interested in a $166 'food upgrade' Has anyone heard of this please and if so, what does it entail.

That's close to the price of either a 4 or 5 day SDP for 2 people (depending on if you add in the 18% or not).

 

Did your friends give you any details on what they were told was included in this?

I just did the math, and the price for 1 person, 7 day SDP is $165.70 ($140 for package +18% tax)

I'm thinking you are right Laura! They are not seasoned cruisers and when they first mentioned it I thought it could be another way of selling 'speciality dining'. Thank you for your input.
