booking excursions while in port

I was just wondering if anyone ever waits until there in port to book independent tours/excursions?

I vaguely remember doing this in Nassau & Ocho Rios years ago. I remember just talking to the taxi drivers or other passengers and going right then. Not sure if those rate were cheaper than if I would have done some research, but it work out then.

If anyone has sailed to Falmouth, Grand Cayman, or Cozumel and waited to book once you go there , please let me know about your experience?

You can book excursions on the pier or your cab driver will be happy to suggest whatever place is giving him the biggest kick back.

You are better off doing your homework in advance an having a plan for each port. Otherwise you tend to waste both time and money :(

Not sure if you posted on the other boards - we love doing the Stingray City and snorkel tour through Moby Dick when in Grand Cayman. Smaller boat, not crowded, great service, kid sized gear if you need it, no pressure to buy photos, etc.

In Grand Caymen use Captain Marvin's Stingray Tours. They are the original company from 1951 We really loved them. Small group They had someone go one on one with me and a life preserver snorkling for the first time. Had an amazing time. You book online with a credit card. But your card is not charged. You pay when you get there.
