Corfu-Glyfada beach DIY?

Is there any way to get to Glyfada beach and back without hiring a car (which we're nervous about because the roads are narrow & windy)?

We would like to spend a few hours there and have lunch.

Are there nicer beaches that are easy to get to?

There. Is a bus to this beach. The bus station is on the over the road from the entrance to the port They run approx every hour. I suggest you check out thr Green Bus timetable available on the net also a map of Corfu Town for the exact location of the Bus Station. There is a ticket office - they wll show you where the bus goes from. It's probably the easiest sandy beach to reach and very pretty.

I hope I don't get too much of a shock when I reach Glyfada...I was last there in 1968!!
